Lighter and brighter

I was becoming frustrated with the lack of light and poor lighting when taking photos of my work.

When I create a pattern I need to take photos and close ups.

As I work mostly in the evenings it was impossible to get clear and crisp images that did not have that awful yellow tint from electric lighting.

I decided to take the plunge and get a light tent.

So here it is.......

Tunisian Puffs

Welcome to the eagerly awaited Tunisian Puff crochet Pattern

Each Row of Tunisian Crochet is made up of a forward pass (FwdP) and a return pass (RetP)

For this piece you will not turn the work but work in rows, starting from right to left (forward pass) and left to right (return pass).

The basic Tunisian Stitch is abbreviated (TSS).

Lets first go over a few techniques we will need., then we can give the Tunisian puff a go......

Ticking off the to do list

So I am working my way through the CAL set up for the Hexipuff Unicorn Blanket.

Making sure everything is in place and neat and tidy.

So we start our CAL on the 1st of March but will have a bit of a PRE cal discussion. Iron out those creases with a bit of a Q&A session.

So click the link below to take you straight to the two events (pre CAL and CAL).

Being a good girl

So I have some left over yarn from my unicorn hexipuff blanket and I am being a good girl and putting them to use  (we will gloss over the fact that i have still not sewn in ends from said blanket).

I have lots of left over snips and cut off that i am stuffing these tunisian puffs with. I posted these on my Facebook page and lots of people asked what i would make with them.

The possibilities are endless. Lots thought weighted blankets would be good. As well as play mats, floor cushions, seat cushions and pet beds. I will share the free pattern on my blog so be sure to come back, give them a try and share you work. Happy crocheting xx

Let the CAL begin

This is my latest pattern, my first blanket pattern and I am over the moon how it turned out.

It was a labour of love and one that almost didn't happen.

I could not get my motif to work and that was the main part of the whole concept.

There are hexagon patterns out there, there are even hexagons made up of puff stitch. But there was not any Puff stitch hexagons that included a image/motif. Maybe it wasn't doable????

Thankfully I tried over and over again. I racked my brain, made my fingers and thumbs numb through trying.

The placement of each Puff and the increases could throw the image out so easily, so it was a matter on getting the increases right and placing the colours in the right spot too.

Starting out with blogger.

I thought I would open up a blogger account. I have always used tumblr, but you do not seem to get the interaction that blogger provides. I also want to be able to share some of my free patterns on my blog along with general shares of my crochet work as well as fellow crocheters work that I find on my procrastinating travels.

If your like me you have far too many patterns in your to do list than you will ever have time to complete, but some of the fun is finding them. A bit like window shopping.

So I hope you will forgive me if I get you hooked on something new or make you add to your ever growing list of things you would like to make.
